Pre-Festival Updates: Unpredictable Weather

High winds tore through Rochester today, Thursday, June 18, leaving many branches fallen, trees downed, and power outages. I was down on Gibbs Street, aka Jazz Street, early afternoon to grab my festival pass, as the winds were picking up. I could see the festival workers struggling a bit to set up the Jazz Street stage. The wind got worse when I left, so I’m curious how the weather has affected the rest of the pre-festival setup today.

The weather is generally mild tomorrow, with a chance of passing thunderstorms between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. That could impact the student shows on Jazz Street, but shouldn’t impact anyone coming down for the rest of the fest. If I learn of any delayed or canceled shows, I’ll post about it.

But there’s a good chance we’ll have ideal weather for the first night of the festival, with temps between the low 70s and mid-60s for most of the evening.
